Where has the year gone!

Hello Friends! I hope you all are doing well, and not letting the holidays get you too stressed out! I can't believe it's almost been a month since my last post...what's up with that?! It seems like after Halloween, the year has been moving at warp speed! I can honestly say that I am NOT ready for Christmas. I haven't bought one gift, and we haven't even gotten our Christmas tree yet. Needless to say, it's been kind of hard for me to get into the holiday spirit without a tree. Our plan is to get one today, so hopefully that will pep me up and get my juices flowing for all the wonderful things that Christmas is.

So, since I haven't posted in quite some time, I have a couple of things to share. (just because I haven't been blogging, doesn't mean that I haven't been crafting!) LOL!

I made this card for my sister. I used the beautiful Vintage Linens patterned paper from Papertrey Ink, along with those cute camera images from MFT. The stamp set is called Picture This.

This next card was made for my co-worker to give to her twin sister for their 50th birthday. I used the MFT set called Picture Perfect.

The photo didn't come out great, but the gold foil on the bottom says Fabulous at 50. It looked much better IRL. :-) Well, I better get myself together so we can go pick out a beautiful Christmas tree. As a random side note, before we got married, my husband would buy his tree on Christmas Eve because they were basically free! Thank goodness he doesn't want to do that anymore!

I hope you have a great day, and thanks so much for stopping by!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Hello Friends! I hope you had a great weekend! Mine was pretty low-key, I think I'm still recovering from the Silhouette conference! LOL! But, it's the start of another work week so I better get it together. I can't believe that the holidays are almost here! I get so excited right after Halloween because I love seeing all of the Christmas decorations at the malls and in the stores. I'm going to try REALLY hard to get my shopping done early this year. I think I say that every year, but this year I mean it!

So, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in my craft room! I've been making Christmas cards like no one's business. Here's what I've done so far:

Believe it or not, I haven't made Christmas cards in two years so when I got started, I couldn't stop!! I cranked up the Christmas tunes on Pandora and went to work! I used my Silhouette for a few of the cards and I busted out my Christmas stamps as well. Ahhh, I love the holidays!

Well, I hope you're getting into the holiday spirit and I also hope you have a great day and a wonderful week. Thanks for stopping by!

All Things Silhouette Conference

Hello Friends! Happy Saturday! Do you have any good plans for the weekend? I know the temperature is starting to drop across the country, and speaking of that I spoke to my mom yesterday who lives in Ohio and she said it snowed! What's up with that? It's been unseasonably warm here, it was 88 yesterday but today it's overcast and not quite as warm.

So, I wanted to pop in to tell you about this awesome conference I attended last weekend. It was the All Things Silhouette Conference and it took place in Peachtree City, GA. It was hosted by Terri Johnson of Terri Johnson Creates and it was awesome! She had some heavy hitters in the Silhouette world teaching classes and helping us get the most out of our Silhouette Cameo's. There were roughly 400 people there and we met a few women who had not taken the machine out of the box yet. I'm sure after the weekend was over they immediately went home and powered that sucker up!

I attended the conference with my crafty friend Leslie. We haven't seen each other in two years (she lives in Michigan) so it was a great girls weekend! We both learned a lot and I don't know about her, but I was on overload! We were literally in class for 6 hours on Saturday and Sunday and it was A LOT of information, but hopefully I retained some of it! LOL! Here's a pic of us at the conference.
They also had a vendor fair with lots and lots of "stuff" to purchase! We were both very good and spent a minimal amount, but it was nice to shop none-the-less! The hotel was a HUGE conference center, and one of our classes was in an amphitheater that held 200 people. The seats even had outlets to plug in your laptop it was a really top notch location. Also, while we were there one of the presenters, who just happens to my Silhouette Idol was there...Lori Whitlock! She is awesome and she is SO nice! Here's a pic of us.
Needless to say, I had a great time! I felt that I learned something in all of the classes we took and now it's just a matter of me getting in my craft room and cutting something!

I hope you have a great weekend, and thank you for stopping by!

Happy Halloween!

Hello Friends and Happy Halloween! I can't wait to get Paige all dressed to go trick-or-treating this evening! My girlfriend's mom and sister made her the cutest little pumpkin costume! She's going to be adorable!

Can you believe that I did not make one craft for Halloween? I guess time just got away from me this year so unfortunately I don't have anything Halloweenish to share. But, I do have a random card, I always have a card. LOL!
So, my co-worker asked me to make a card for a friend who recently adopted a puppy. I immediately went to my LSS to look for some cute patterned paper, and I was not disappointed. I found this lovely paper from Authentique and it was absolutely perfect for this project. I decided to let the paper be the star of the show, so I did no stamping whatsoever. I found that sweet little puppy in the Silhouette Design store, I added a coordinating bow and that was it! I really love how it turned out.

Well, it's time for me get a nice hot cup of coffee to get my day started and watch cartoons with Paige. We have a lunch date with my friend later today (we're celebrating my birthday a little early) and meeting at California Pizza Kitchen - I love it there! I hope you all have a nice weekend, and a fun, happy, and safe Halloween.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Because

Hello Friends! Happy Sunday! I hope you're having a lovely weekend. We stayed home for most of the day yesterday and then we visited my mother-in-law which was nice because she loves spending time with Paige. After that we met some friends for dinner and let me tell you our dinner was the bomb! We went to a seafood restaurant that has the most incredible salad bar ever. I had macadamia nut encrusted snapper with a mango & strawberry salsa...DELICIOUS!

I was also able to get a little crafting time in as well. I continued making my Christmas cards and I'm having so much fun because I listen to Christmas music on Pandora while I'm working. It truly puts a smile on my face. I absolutely LOVE the holidays! My plan is to take photos of the cards today so I can share them with you soon.

Today I'm sharing a card I made for a co-worker. I think I really need to make a stash of these cards so I can have them on hand for any occasion.
This card came together really easily because the patterned paper is so darn pretty! It's from PTI and it's called Vintage Linens. I didn't do much except add the beautiful script die cut, also from PTI called Scripted and I picked up that cute button from my local craft store. Quick, easy and I think really pretty. Note to Self: I seriously need to take 30 minutes and just whip up a bunch of these. LOL!

I hope the rest of your day is great, and thank you so much for stopping by!

Welcome little one

Hello Friends! I hope you're having a great weekend! Oh my goodness, life has been a whirlwind over here! Things have been crazy busy at work, and just as busy at home. Paige wasn't feel well last week so I had to pick her up from "school" and bring her home. Thank goodness my honey was able to stay home with her the following day. She's feeling much better now, she's so sweet even when she doesn't feel good!

So, yesterday we had a family outing to the bowling alley. We had such a fun time and Paige almost beat me! LOL! After that, we took a drive down to Ft. Lauderdale for lunch and just relaxed, talked, and enjoyed ourselves. It's so nice that my husband is finally off on the weekends because now we can actually make plans and enjoy our weekends together!

I didn't even realize that's it's been so LONG since my last post and I truly apologize. But, I do have a card to share today. I made this one for the mother of one of Paige's classmates, she recently had a baby girl.
This card is little bigger than the standard A2 cards I normally make, I believe it was 5.25x5.25. I used Simple Stories Vintage Bliss patterned paper and I found the stork in the Silhouette Design Store. I added some enamel dots and few stamped hearts to finish off the card. I tucked a little gift card to Babies R Us inside because all mom's need STUFF! LOL!

Well, today I'm getting started on my Christmas cards - yup the holiday season is upon us, YAY! I hope to have a few ready to go by the end of the day. Have a great Sunday, and thank you so much for stopping by!

Birthday card

Hello Friends! How are you this beautiful Sunday morning? Although fall isn't in the air in south Florida, I sure do love all of the pumpkin spice goodies being offered EVERYWHERE! I love me some punkin! Once the delicious pumpkin muffins are back at Dunkin Donuts I know the rest of the year is going to fly by! So, while I enjoy my pumpkin Belvita crackers this morning, in the back of mind I'm thinking that Christmas will be here soon!

Well, today I'm sharing a card I made for a co-worker,(I believe her mother is turning 75). I have so many things in my head these days with Paige's birthday coming it's hard for me to keep everything straight! LOL!

For this card I used the Rosie Posie stamp set from PTI to create my own patterned paper. Those flowers are so pretty I love how they just fill in the paper so effortlessly. I added a strip of cardstock to the bottom and added the birthday sentiment. I cut out 75th using my Silhouette and gold foil paper. Have I mentioned that I'm in love with the gold foil?? I swear I wish I could use that stuff on every card I create!

Well, I think I hear my little one waking up so I better get in there so we can get her day started. I hope you have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by!

Congrats

Hello Friends! Happy Monday! I hope you had a nice weekend. My weekend was very good and even more productive. I spent the entire day on Saturday hanging out with Paige. We went to an indoor playground (I think I mentioned this place before), then we had lunch at Cheesecake Factory. We did some shopping after that and just had an all-around great day together.

Yesterday, I finished Paige's birthday invitations - woohoo!! I think they came out pretty cute, I'll be posting them soon. I also had the opportunity to get started on birthday invitations for my nephew, his birthday is a couple of weeks after Paige. His entire invitation is being cut with my Silhouette, so now that I have everything cut out I'm prepped and ready to go. Hopefully, I'll get those done by the end of the week.

Today, I'm sharing a card I made for my co-worker. Her nephew recently got his driver's license so she asked me to make a congrats card.

This card was so fun to make! I used the stamp set Enjoy the Ride from PTI for the car and the license plate. I made a faux hill by cutting out some green cardstock, then I added those cute trees just to add a little more interest. I really love when I get to make cards that I normally wouldn't have the opportunity to make because it really gets the creative juices flowing.

I still can't believe it's Monday already, but here we are with another start to the work week. I hope you have a great week and thank you so much for stopping by!

Have a rockin' senior year

Hello Friends! Are you having a nice weekend? My weekend has been nice, quiet, and relaxing. I was able to get some crafting done yesterday and that always makes for a great day! I'm actually starting on Paige's birthday invitations, I can't believe she's going to be two already! This year has absolutely flown by but it's so awesome to see her learn and grow. We've been practicing her ABC's and she recognizes letters everywhere! It's so cute, and she's so proud of herself, I love it!

Speaking of ABC's and learning, my co-worker asked me to make a card for her nephew who is a senior in high school this year. So, that posed two problems for me...first he's a boy and you know I have a hard time with masculine cards, and second he's a teenager! Geez, what the heck do I know about teenage boys...absolutely NOTHING! LOL! But, I love a challenge so I came up with this card.

I figured that I couldn't go wrong with an iPod!! I recently purchased the Keep On Rockin' stamp/die set from MFT and I must say that I love it! I can't wait to make a really girly card with it! I found the sheet music patterned paper at Hobby Lobby and just accented it with green cardstock. I'm not sure if you can see that little music note inside of the iPod, but it looked really cute in person! LOL! My co-worker said the card was perfect and she really liked it.

So, now that I've wiped the sweat from my brow after working on a card for teenage boy, I was able to make a few other cards that were more my speed. I'll be sharing those soon.

I hope you have a great Sunday, I know I will it's FOOTBALL SEASON! I'm so excited to watch the NFL today, I love me some football! Enjoy your day and thank you so much for stopping by!

Happy Labor Day!

Hello Friends! To those of you in the US, Happy Labor Day! My husband and I are both off today so we plan on relaxing, and fixing a couple of things around the house. I hope to also get a little crafting time in as well. Paige will be running around laughing and playing and enjoying the fact that we're all home together. Should be a fun day!

Today, I have another card to share from the Stay Tuned stamp set from MFT. It's a great go-to stamp set for a guy (remember I have serious issues making masculine cards!). I made this birthday for a co-worker, he's a really nice guy and he got married the weekend after his birthday which made for a very exciting week for him!
I love that retro TV set, and the paper is from the Sprinkles & Shakers Make it Market kit from PTI. I love the extra retro vibe it gives to the card, and I stamped the little starbursts and diamonds on the paper to help add some visual interest. My co-worker really liked the card and I have to say that it really makes me smile when I walk around the office and I see my cards sitting on various desks throughout the office.

Well, I don't know about your neck of the woods but the sun is shining brightly here today and I definitely want to get outside and enjoy it! Have a great Labor Day and thank you so much for stopping by!

So Proud of You

Hello Friends! Happy Saturday! I sure hope your weather is nice and you're out enjoying the weekend. We had a tropical storm warning for our area but my hubby told me that the last report has it going west of us and we are hopefully out of the storm's path. I was proactive and picked up supplies like water, candles, snacks, etc and thank goodness I did it early because the shelves at the grocery stores were empty and lines at the gas station were out of control yesterday!!!

Today I'm sharing a card that I made for my co-worker. Her son's girlfriend recently completed Basic Training for the US Air Force so I knew I had to make a card that she could give to her.
I used my handy dandy Silhouette to cut the letters for Air Force as well as the F-22 fighter jet (I think it was a F-22!). I already had that beautiful patterned paper on hand from Authentique along with the sticker. I finished off the card by stamping some red and blue stars and adding the So Proud of You sentiment using Script Sentiments from PTI. I think I've mentioned before that I really love making patriotic cards, especially for members of our US Military.

Well, I think we're expecting a sunny day today so I'm going to get out there and enjoy it! Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by!

The sky's the limit

Hello Friends! Are you having a good week? Oh my goodness, talk about jumping in with both feet, this week has been a blur so far. I have so much going on at work, I almost feel like I'm being punished for taking off for a week! LOL! It's all good though, I'm sure I'll get caught up soon.

I am happy to report that I had a chance to get some crafting done while I was off last week. Today I'm sharing a card that I made for my husband's co-worker. His daughter graduated from H.S. and is off to college. I actually got the idea for this card from this awesome post by Betsy Veldman. I already knew I wanted to use a cute car I found at the Silhouette Design store, but the typewriter was GENIUS!
I used the PTI stamp set Desktop Design along with the sentiment from Blue Skies. I simply cut a piece of black cardstock and used my chalk pen to add the marks in the "street." That car just makes me smile, I love the color the shape, everything about it. Have I mentioned that I love my Silhouette??

Well, that's it for me today. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Birthday cards

Hello Friends! I hope you're having a great week thus far. It's been very nice being on vacation, I've been chilling! Paige and I ventured out yesterday to an indoor playground (remember I told you I can't do HOT and HUMID) and it was really nice. Paige had an absolute blast! After that, we met my friend (and Paige's Godmother) for lunch. I had one of the BEST burgers I think I've ever had, and let me tell you I've had some great burgers. I think it ranks in my top 3!

I thought I would drop by and share two more cards from the set I made my co-worker.

These cards were made with the PTI Make it Market Kit - Shakers & Sprinkles but I didn't add the sprinkles or the shakers for a change. I just used the beautiful patterned paper and added some enamel dots. Easy peasy! I know I've said this over and over again, but I LOVE THIS KIT! It's so easy to use and all of the cards come out amazing. Thank you Besty Veldman!!

Well, I hope the rest of your day is fantastic and thank you so much for stopping by!

Feel Better

Hello Friends! Happy Monday! Are you ready for the start of another work week? Well, I hate to say it, but I'm off all week, yay me! :-) Paige and I will be hanging out all week long so I'm trying plan fun outings with her. The only problem is, it's SO HOT and HUMID I really can't do the outdoor thing, so we'll be finding plenty to do indoors!

Recently, my co-worker asked me to make her a set of cards, so I'm sharing two of those cards today.

There's no better way to send a Feel Better Soon wish then with a bowl of soup! I used the Comfort Foods stamp set from PTI, and don't you love the "Campbell's" soup can! You can't get much more iconic than that! I'll be sharing the other cards I made in this set in the next few days. I hope to get a lot of crafting done while I'm on vacation this week, cross your fingers that it happens!

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank you card

Hello Friends! Happy Saturday! I hope it's nice and sunny where you are and you plan on going out and enjoying it! Things have been crazy busy with me lately. I was in Atlanta two weeks in a row, and my job has me going non-stop. But, I make sure I set some time aside to craft! Today I have a thank you card to share that I made for my sweet friend Chi. She's such a good auntie, she sent Paige the cutest clothes not long ago so I had to send her a card from Paige.
For this card I used a super cute stamp set from PTI called Pencil Me In. It's a great set to use for teacher gifts, but since this card is really from Paige, I thought it would be perfect. The notebook paper is a patterned paper set also from PTI from the Pencil Me In line. I think this may be one of my go-to stamp sets, I really love it!

Well today is a daddy-daughter day, so I better get Paige ready to go! I hope you all have a wonderful day and a great weekend. Thank you so much for stopping by!

A winner will be announced tomorrow...

Hello Friends! Just popping in to let you know I'll be posting a winner from my giveaway tomorrow, 07/31. I heard a few folks were having problems leaving a comment but you should be able to click on the icon for either Google (if you have a gmail account), or Facebook to post your comment. I hope that helps and good luck!

I also have a card to share today.
I made this card for my co-worker. She lives in Texas and she sent me a of coffee called The Taste of San Antonio. She's been telling me about it for awhile, and let me tell you it was worth the wait! The coffee has a hint of cinnamon, chocolate, and vanilla it's very good! It's almost like you're drinking dessert. :-) You know I love coffee and you also know how strongly I feel about sending thank you cards, so this is the card I came up with to send to her.

I decided to use the chalkboard technique for this card, and used white and gold embossing powders for the sentiment and the stack of coffee cups. I used my Copics to color the cups and it really helped that I embossed the cards because it makes it harder to color outside of the lines! I really like this stamp set and I'm not sure why I don't pull it out more often. It's a set from PTI and it's called Latte Love - cute, huh?!

That's it for me today, I hope you have a nice evening and I'll check back in tomorrow with the giveaway winner! Thanks for stopping by!

Keep Calm and Teach On

Hello Friends! Happy 4th of July! Do you have plans to barbeque, get your drink on (even it's just soda), and see some fireworks? We've invited friends and family over to our house for all of the above! Right now the sky is dark, and there's some thunder going on but hopefully we'll have a downpour now so it can clear up later. Keep your fingers crossed!

Today, I have a couple of projects to share with you. The lead teacher in Paige's classroom has been out with a back injury for the past couple of weeks and Paige misses her dearly! The two of them created a bond when she was in the infant room, and now they are BFF's! I wanted to make her a card to let her know that Paige is thinking about her, and I made another project that she can hopefully put on the wall in her classroom.

Remember when I mentioned that I had another shaker card to share, well that cute pencil is it! Isn't it adorable! It's perfect for a teacher, and it would also be cute for a set of Just a Note cards and I'm sure I'll be using it again and again.

The canvas project was done using my Silhouette. I downloaded the apple and sentiment from the Silhouette School blog it was a freebie! I must say that adding vinyl to canvas is NOT easy! I had to prime the canvas using two coats of gesso, then I added a coat of mod podge. I thought it would work if I added the vinyl while the mod podge was wet, but that was not the case! I waited for it to dry completely, then I was able to transfer the vinyl a little easier. This project was a little tougher than I anticipated but I'm glad I hung in there because I love the results.

Well, I need to start cleaning the house and get ready for our guests. Have a happy and safe 4th of July!

Thanks honey

Hello Friends! Happy hump day! Well, it's been quite the week for me. I mentioned that Paige had a fever over the weekend, well yesterday morning it went up to 102! I took her to the doctor and my poor little punkin has an ear infection. She's on antibiotics, plus a breathing treatment because her chest is really congested. She already seems to be doing better, so we'll see how she does at daycare.

Today I'm sharing a card I made for my co-worker. He recently went on vacation to upstate New York and he brought back several jars of honey made with buckwheat. He's been telling me for awhile that I need to substitute the sugar I use in my tea for honey, so he brought me a bottle. Can you say delicious?! It is REALLY GOOD! So, you know I had to make a thank you card for him!
I'm sure you can guess that I cut the honey jar and honey with my Silhouette! I used a piece of vellum cardstock I bought from Michael's to cut out the jar, you know to make it look glass-like! I also cut the honeycomb from my Silhouette put some patterned paper behind it to add some interest. Then I stamped the thanks sentiment and used my paper trimmer to cut that out. The word honey was added with stickers. I hope he likes it!

Well, let me go check on my little patient. I hope you have a great day, and thank you so much for stopping by!

Relaxing birthday

Hello Friends! Happy Saturday! What are your plans for the weekend? Not much going on this way, my sweet little girl woke up with a runny nose and a slight fever so I'll be spending my day giving her lots of TLC!

I don't know about you, but this has been a really long week! I am so happy it's the weekend, and we have lots of sunshine and blue skies so if nothing else, I'll probably take Paige for a nice stroller ride around the neighborhood. So, I wanted to pop in and share a relaxing birthday card for you. I made it for my boss to give to her husband for his birthday. Yup, another brown noser move by yours truly! LOL!

This card was a lot of fun to make. I used my Silhouette to cut the palm trees and the hammock. The stickers and cardstock are from Authentique and I used some chunky glitter for the "sand." My boss and her family actually spent that weekend in Key West so this card helped to reflect the type of weekend they wanted to have.

Well, I can't hang out long, I gotta go check on my little punkin. I hope you have a great day, and a wonderful weekend. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Can you say shaker card?

Hello Friends! Yup, I'm back today with yet another shaker card! I know, I'm addicted but I don't want any help for it! LOL! These cards are so fun to make, and I bought another shaker die that I'll be sharing with you soon, it's really cute!

These cards are from the set I made my sweet friend Chi.

I used the PTI Make it Market Kit - Shakers and Sprinkles and as always, these cards just make me smile! Betsy Veldman is a genius with these Make it Market kits because everything fits so nicely together and she takes all the guesswork out of making cards! Love it!

Enjoy your Saturday, and thank you so much for stopping by!

Congrats card

Hello Friends! Happy Hump Day! I hope you're having a great week so far, and we're another day closer to the weekend! So, I'm trying really hard to do at least one crafty project per week and so far so good. Even if it's just one card, at least I'm crafting! I'm trying to take advantage of Paige's nap time on the weekends, and it's been working out nicely.

Today, I have a congratulations card to share. I've become good friends with one of my customer's at work and she recently called to tell me that she got a promotion and will be moving on to another department. With the move, we won't be in contact for work-related business and although I'm super happy for her, I will miss our interaction. Of course I had to make a card for her because that's just what I do!
For this card I used my Silhouette to cut the Polaroid frame and then I added the office supplies from PTI's Desktop Design and the sentiment was stamped with the Swoosh set. I absolutely love that little typewriter, and how cute is that little piece of paper with the super small sentiment of keep in touch! The patterned paper is from October's Afternoon's 9 to 5 collection which as you know is my go-to collection for office themed cards. :-)

That's it for me today, I hope you have a great day. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Birthday cards

Hello Friends! Happy Saturday! Did you have a good week? My week started out kind of yucky because I took Paige to her first dentist appointment and I think we are both traumatized! Oh my goodness, I have never seen this little girl cry the way she did! She's very particular about her face and mouth so when they went in there to clean her teeth it was on! I usually sing to her in order for her to open her mouth to let me brush, but needless to say the toothbrush song didn't work at the dentist office! After her cleaning, I held her and calmed her down but then came the dentist. As soon as he put his fingers in her mouth, down she bit!! She was pretty much over it. But, she got a great report and her teeth are very healthy, but I told my husband he's taking her to the next appointment! LOL!

So, I recently made a set of birthday cards for my sweet friend Chi and I'll be sharing a couple of them with you today.
Don't you just love that script font? The stamp set is from PTI and it's called Graceful Greetings, it's definitely going to one of my go-to sentiment stamps. I wanted to make the sentiment the star of the show, so I added a couple of small flowers (also from the set) and a couple of the stars for the more masculine card. I also added a few enamel dots to finish off the cards. Sometimes less is more, and I feel this is one of those times where that worked out well.

Do you have any plans today? Hopefully it's nice and sunny where you are and you'll have a chance to get out there and enjoy it! Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Pickles and ice cream...

Hello Friends! Okay, let me start off by saying, no I'm not pregnant! LOL! But, my co-worker is and I'm so happy for her! I actually made her wedding invitations three years ago, and now she's pregnant, it's so exciting. I was able to make a card for her over the weekend and this is what I came up with:
Don't you just love that image! It's from Mo Manning, and this has got to be the cutest pregnancy image I've ever seen! I colored her with Copic markers and I really need to start practicing because I really enjoy coloring, but I want to do it right. I definitely need more shadows and dimension in my coloring, but that will come with practice. I cut out the speech bubble and added the Pickles and ice cream...Delicious sentiment using a white Silhouette sketch pen.

My co-worker absolutely loved it, but I think she may have loved the Cold Stone ice cream gift card that was inside just a little more! Heck, how can I give a pregnant woman a card with ice cream on the front, and not give her a little something to help her craving! That's just the kind of girl I am, LOL!

Well, I hope you have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Soda or Pop?

Hello Friends! Happy Friday! The weekend is here and I have to say that the week literally flew by! I actually took the day off yesterday, dropped Paige at school and then went home and crafted my little heart out! I finally finished a set of cards for my sweet friend Chi and I made a few other cards that have been on my to-do list for awhile. It was a really nice relaxing day, YAY me!

I have a couple of cards to share with you today. These cards are from the set I made for my friend Jeanette.

Okay, so I have to start off by saying, aren't these cards cute?! I will admit that I'm an undercover corn ball and I love punny sayings! For some reason I had it in my head that I wanted to make some cards with soda or pop (depending on where in live), or in this case both - BONUS! I'm originally from Ohio and we say "Pop" but when I moved to south Florida, they say Soda so now I usually say soda because no one understands what you mean when you say Pop! LOL!

I found the soda pop image in the Silhouette Design Store and cut all the pieces using my trusty Silhouette, Cammie (yes she has a name!). I had purchased the bottle caps awhile ago from Michael's, the brand is DCWV. I used some chevron stripe patterned paper at the top to give the look of an awning and I embossed a couple of sheets of cardstock to kinda make it look like the bottle is sitting on a table or bench. Then it was time for the punny saying I've "soda" been thinking about you! That totally makes me smile! My girlfriend loved these cards, and she thought the saying was clever!

On another note that's completely off the subject of crafting, have you tried New England Coffee??? I've been hearing their commercials on the radio and I finally decided to try it. I got the Donut Shop Blend and let me tell you, it's really good! I'm usually a Dunkin Donuts snob, but this coffee is really smooth, light and right up my alley. We have a Keurig so I bought the k-cups and as soon as I opened the bag, it smelled divine! I highly recommend it! :-)

Well, I think I've rambled enough today, LOL! Have a happy Friday, and a fantastic weekend. Thanks so much for stopping by!

It's all about the television

Hello Friends! Happy Saturday! I'm so happy it's the weekend and since it's a three day weekend, I'm even happier! I truly need the extra day off, I've been exhausted lately. I guess that comes with the territory of being a mom, wife, having a full time job, and a craft business on the side! LOL! I'm totally not complaining, but sometimes I just need to vent a little. :-)

Today, I have a card to share that I made for my honey. His birthday was earlier this month and although we played it very low-key we still celebrated. We ended up picking up food from Carrabba's and I bought a small cake for him. It was nice.
So, you probably already know that I have such a hard time making masculine cards. Well, when MFT came out with this stamp set I knew if would be perfect for a masculine card. MFT has a die set as well, but I used my Silhouette to cut out the television instead of paying extra for the dies (just call me frugal). I'll definitely use this set often because there are some really cute sentiments included.

Well, we're off to check out a local craft show. I hope the rest of your weekend is fantastic, and thank you so much for stopping by!

Teacher Appreciation

Hello Friends! Did you have a nice weekend? Mine was pretty good, Paige and I hung out with her Godmother on Saturday and that was fun. She has two golden retrievers and I wasn't sure how Paige would react because she's never been around dogs before. Well she was very comfortable with them, it was really cute. The funny thing was every time she decided to pet them she would say HI! in her high pitch sweet voice, I guess she wanted to let them know that she comes in peace! LOL! She would pat their heads and their noses, I'm sure she was fascinated that she found a couple of noses that are just as wet as hers! LOL! Now that I know she's okay with dogs, I'm sure we'll be heading over to their neck of the woods again soon.

I still can't believe it's already Monday, why does the weekend go so fast?! Well, at least we have next Monday to look forward to since many of us have Memorial Day off. I'm really looking forward to that! So, today I little notepad to share that I made for Paige's teachers for Teacher Appreciation week. I tell ya, I had some lofty plans in mind for them but with Mother's Day, and my husband's birthday all falling in the same week, I just couldn't do it. I'll keep the ideas in mind for end of year gifts, which thankfully isn't until October.
The teachers absolutely loved the notepads, but I really felt bad that it was the only papercrafting project I was able to complete. I did, however make homemade chocolate chip cookies for them to close out the week, so I was glad I was able to do that. For these notepads I used some patterned paper I bought from Michael's a couple of years ago and I have no idea who the manufacturer is, sorry! The pencils were cut with a new die from PTI called Pencil Me In and the Notes sentiment is from PTI's Take Note stamp set. I shaded the sentiment with white ink to give it a chalkboard look, and basically that was it. These notepads really come in handy and you all know that I just love making them!

Well, I better get ready for work! Thank you very much for stopping by and have a great Monday!

More shaker cards

Hello Friends! Well, we're one day closer to the weekend, woohoo! I hope you're having a great week thus far! Mine started out fantastic because I had a date with my husband on Monday. We took the day off, dropped Paige off at school, and headed to Boomer's (it's like Dave & Buster's), then to the movies. We saw Fast & Furious 7, talk about action packed! I totally cried like a baby at the end  because they paid such a beautiful tribute to Paul Walker, I just couldn't stop the tears from rolling down my face. But the movie was great and afterward we had a little late lunch, picked Paige up from school and headed home. It was a really nice day! We definitely have to do that again...SOON!

Today, I'm back with a couple of shaker cards. You know I absolutely LOVE these shakers cards, I just can't get enough of them!

Of course I used the Sprinkles & Shakers Make it Market kit from PTI for these cards. I'm telling you, the combination of the patterned paper, the die cut words, and those wonderful sprinkles just make these cards so fun to make! If these cards don't make someone smile, I don't know what will. LOL! Gosh, I just love this hobby! :-)

Well, it's time to get ready for work. I hope you have a great day and I hope to be back this weekend with more cards to share. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Mother's Day

Hello Friends! Today is a very special day for all the mom's out there as well as sisters, aunts, and cousins who play a special role for the children in their lives. My sweet husband and baby girl sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers at work on Thursday. My honey always makes sure I can enjoy them for a few days before the holiday (he's a keeper!). Today we're going to church, then out to lunch with my mother-in-law as well as my husband's brothers and sister. It should be a really nice day.

So, I've been MIA lately because my computer was in the ER, LOL!! Remember I told you I was having some issues, well she crashed twice so I had to pack her up and take for an emergency visit to our IT guy! He had her for a few days and I just got her back last night and let me tell you, it was weird not having a computer! But, she's back and is as good as new!

I have a few cards to share with you today. One is a Mother's Day card and the others are from the set I made for my friend Jeanette.

Okay, first I have to say, don't you just love those clouds on the Mother's Day card? it's a die cut from PTI, and it's just lovely! The other cards use the gold foil patterned paper from PTI (you know I love those papers) and I heat embossed the just because sentiment with gold embossing powder. Super easy!

Well, we gotta finish getting ready for church so I hope all of you mom's out there have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Birthday card

Hello Friends! I'm so sorry for the brief hiatus, but I've been having some serious computer issues! I'm actually still having those problems but I had to backdoor it and use Google Chrome instead of Internet Explorer, so here I am! You can't keep a good woman down! LOL!

Did you all have a nice weekend? Mine was very relaxing, and very hot! Can you believe the temperature on Sunday got up to 99 degrees?! Isn't that insane! It's only April!!!! I think I say this every year, but I'm so not ready for the summer! Anyway, I digress. I'm here today to share a birthday card I made for my God Daughter, Danielle. She's such a sweet little girl, I just love seeing her smile!
I really like how this card turned out. Danielle's mom even texted me to tell me how much she loved it! I used some really pretty patterned paper from Simple Stories called Vintage Bliss and decided to go with the whole photo/camera theme. I cut out the Polaroid banner from a piece of patterned paper, and stamped the sentiment from PTI's Shutterbug set. I used the library card and the memories enclosed label from October Afternoon's "doo-dads" from their Farm Girl collection. I stamped the BIG Birthday Wishes sentiment from PTI's Think Big Favorites, and added the little wood veneer camera for some added dimension. All in all, it was a really fun card to make!

Well, I hope you enjoyed today's post and if my internet is still cooperating later this week, I'll be posting more for sure! Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Birthday cards

Hello Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! Unfortunately, I'm feeling a little under the weather, so the week isn't starting out too great for me. But, I'm not going to let a little cold get me down, so I'm here today to share a couple of birthday cards.

I made the first card for my friend's daughter who turned one earlier this month! She had a Minnie Mouse themed party, it was a lot of fun!
The second card was made for one of my friends. You know I LOVE that gold foil patterned paper from PTI, so I took that out and whipped up this quick and easy card.

I'm currently working on a set of 10 cards for a friend of mine, so I'll be back soon to post pics of those! Thanks so much for stopping by!
