It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Hello Friends! Did you have a Happy Thanksgiving? I'm sure you all had a lot to be thankful for, and I pray that you were able to share your day with family and friends. We had a great Thanksgiving! We had 18 people at our house, and it was full of fun, laughter, kids running and playing, and of course, LOTS of food!! We had a blast!

So, I'm popping in today with a set of Christmas cards I made for one of Paige's daycare teachers. She was previously a librarian and she loved the library card invitations I made for Paige's birthday, so she asked me to make some for Christmas. What a cute idea! So, this is what I came up with.

I figured that most people like to display their Christmas cards, so I made these little easels out of chipboard. And, I had to make box to put them in, so I made this easy little box. Don't you love that paper! It's from BoBunny and it's called Candy Cane Lane, too cute!
So, are you going Black Friday shopping? No shopping for me today, I'm pooped! So, we are having a family pajama day! YAY!

Paige's first birthday party

Hello Friends! I'm finally getting around to sharing photos from Paige's first birthday party. We had such a wonderful time on her big day, and the whole day was just full of love, laughs, and fun.

I chose a book theme for her party and on her invitations we asked guests to bring he a book instead of a card. She received over 25 books!

I also made some coasters to put these little milk bottles on that I bought from Michael's for fresh flowers. I found this this pin on Pinterest for these old school book covers.

I love these coasters, but can you believe that I forgot to put the flowers on top! It was a crazy day! But, here's a picture of the flowers.

I absolutely love the subway art craze that's going around these days, so I had to get something for Paige because she's cool like that! I believe I found this on Etsy.
So, I have to take a moment to talk about her cake. I went to one of my grocery stores looking for cake to fit our book theme, but I came up empty. I went to second grocery store, and I was speaking to the bakery manager, and she told me that she had been working there for 20 years. She says "well, it's not in the catalog, but a long time ago we made a cake that looked like a book for Baptisms, and I can do that for you!" I told her that was perfect, so she took it and ran with it, and boy was I happy with the results!
And, a party isn't a party with favors, right? I made these 3D books (using my Silhouette of course) and filled them with Smarties - perfect for our theme!

And the finishing touch, the Thank You card.

May this be your best birthday yet!

Hello Friends! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is in two weeks?! I sure can't, it just seems like the time is going by so quickly! My husband and I were already talking about our Christmas budget. And, we've decided to host Thanksgiving this year so I have a lot of work to do!

So, today I'm popping in with a birthday card that I made for my sister. She recently turned 26 so I sent her this card with a little money inside. :-)
 
I used on of my favorite PTI stamp sets, Stitched Sentiments on this card. It just has that homey feel that I love so much. Well, it's time for us to get ready for church, so this will be a super short post.

Tote-ally Cute!

Hello Friends! I hope you had a Happy Halloween and you're having a great weekend! We didn't dress Paige up this year because the poor baby had a double ear infection. So, we just sat outside and gave out candy to all the kids in the neighborhood. We had a good time and Paige loved seeing all the kids! Even though she wasn't feeling 100%, I was able to take a picture of my little pumpkin...

She's loves the camera! We snapped this quick photo on the way to daycare on Friday morning.
 
So, I also have some crafty goodness to share with you. My manager's daughter, Marina turned 12 on Halloween and she invited 9 girls over to their house to celebrate on Saturday. She mentioned that she was going to have the girls decorate some canvas tote bags, and I had the bright idea to use my Silhouette to heat transfer their names onto the totes. Here's how they came out:

I used Cricut brand heat transfer material and I think I like it little better than the Silhouette brand. It's 12 inches wide so you can add a lot to small portion of the sheet. And, I was finally able to get a smooth transfer, I've tried several times with the Silhouette brand and I always had small pieces that would not transfer all the way. Needless to say, now I feel like a "Pro" so I'm going to start making some cute onesies for Paige!
 
Marina absolutely loved the totes! Hopefully they took pictures after they decorated them, if so I'll post those as well! Since I made them for my manager, my husband called me a brown-noser!! LOL!

Birthday card

Hello Friends! Are you having a great weekend so far? I must say that the weather here is BEAUTIFUL! It's actually cooling off a little and it's in the 70's in the morning and mid-80's in the afternoon, it's been awesome.

So, today I'm popping in with a birthday card I made for our friend's son who turned 18 a few weeks ago. She had a fabulous party for him and we really enjoyed ourselves. Of course Paige kinda stole the show because who doesn't love holding, hugging, and kissing a baby! LOL!!

I think by now you all know that I have an issue with making masculine cards, but I tried really hard with this one! You can never go wrong with a color palette of brown, green, and orange! You also know that I have love affair with typewriters and when I saw this stamp with a  Royal typewriter I just had to have it! My co-worker is a "professional" vintage shopper so I have her on the look-out for a Royal typewriter (at a reasonable price, and that works) for me! I know she'll come across it one of these days!

Well, I have an eye appointment today (yes, the peepers are getting old!) and then Paige and I are hanging out. Hopefully I'll get some crafting time in as well, I gotta get my thank you cards made for Paige's birthday gifts. I have the CD of the pics from her party, so I'll be sure to start posting those soon!

Happy 1st Birthday Paige!

Hello Friends! I just wanted to pop in to wish our sweet little girl a Happy 1st Birthday! This has truly been the fastest year of my life! I still can't believe she's one! What a blessing she has been to our lives and what I wonderful little girl she is growing up to be. She wakes up with a smile on her face every morning and just makes our days awesome.

She is starting to "cruise" around the ottoman where she's taking steps while holding on. She takes a few trips around it before she gets tuckered out! LOL! She has five teeth, and is 21lbs and 30 inches long! She talks all the time (I have no idea where she gets that from!) and she's feeding herself ravioli and she absolutely loves her baby food! She's a sweet potato kinda girl!

I took this picture of her a few weeks ago so I can add it to her birthday banner.
Isn't she a doll? And isn't that cupcake insane?! It was delicious too! :-) Happy Birthday sweet baby girl!

Birthday Cards

Hello Friends! I hope you're having a great weekend! My weekend has been good even though we've all been battling a cold! I think Paige is doing the best out of all of us. LOL! We did get a chance to go to the park yesterday for a picnic we had with some friends. I think the fresh air was good for us.

So, I've been spending my time planning and crafting for Paige's birthday party! I can't believe she's almost one! I'm really happy with the way things are turning out and of course I'll be sharing the finished products!

Today, I have a couple of birthday cards to share that Paige and I gave to David for his birthday.
 
I made these cards a couple of months ago, and truly forgot to post them. Needless to say, I'm not even sure I remember all of my supplies! With that said, I won't say much about the cards, but I hope you enjoy them!

Sending a Big Thank You

Hello Friends! Are you having a good weekend? My weekend has been pretty good with the exception of all the rain we've been getting! And the humidity...don't even get me started on that! LOL! Well, I am really excited today, because football Sunday is back! I LOVE football, and I miss it dearly during the summer. And of course football Sunday, calls for football food so today's menu will consist of wings, hotdogs, and salad (gotta round it out with something healthy!). We'll attend church this morning, then hurry home to plop on the sofa and get our football fix.

Today I have a card to share that I made for a co-worker. I got to do something that I think is really cool, I did voice-over work for a video that will be streaming on my company's website! How awesome is that! It was a great experience, I had a professional microphone and everything! As you can tell, I had a blast! So, I made this card for the gentleman that asked me to do the voice-over.
 
Okay, first of all this patterned paper is one of my favorites of all time! It's by October Afternoon and it's called 9 to 5 - how apropos! The paper is definite the highlight of this card! I diecut the little typewriter and telephone from PTI's Desktop Design, and tucked the card into the library card holder. Super simple, and I love how it turned out!

Gone Fishin'

Hello Friends! Happy Labor Day! I hope your weekend has been great so far! So, what are you up to today? Are you spending the day with family and friends? We are pretty low key around here (my honey had to work all weekend), so we're just chilling today. We plan to throw a few hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill this afternoon and that's about it. I also want to do a little crafting today as well, so we'll see how that goes.

Today, I have a masculine card to share with you. I know, it's surprising, right?! My husband asked me to make a birthday card for his friend, and this is what I came up with.
I cut the old fisherman and the "ocean waves" with my Silhouette. I love that fisherman! I also used my Silhouette to cut a cloud and I used some aqua ink to stamp around it for the illusion of clouds in the air. I hope his friend likes it!

Love is in the air

Hello Friends! I hope you're having a nice start to your week. As I mentioned in my earlier post, my husband and I decided to take the day off yesterday and just hang out together. So, we dropped Paige off at daycare, and we went to the movies! We saw Get on Up - the James Brown biopic. Then we went out to lunch, and gazed in each other's eyes while birdies and butterflies were fluttering overhead! LOL! Just kidding, but it was really nice to spend some time together.

Today, I'm sharing a wedding card that I made for one of the teachers at Paige's school. She got married two weeks ago, and Paige will be going into her toddler room when she turns one, so you know we have to get in the good with the new teacher ;-)
So, this card was easy peasy! Isn't that the cutest little car? Well, I cut it out with my Silhouette Cameo it was a "print and cut" file, so I just printed the car with my printer, then sent it to the Silhouette to be cut - see, easy peasy! That patterned paper is to die for! It's by Authentique and it's so appropriately called "Pretty!" A doily and a decorative edge border punch finish off the card. Paige's soon to be teacher absolutely loved the card and she couldn't believe I made it. I told her I had a blog, and she told me that "I just became even cooler!" How funny is that!

My little notepad

Hello Friends! I hope your weekend is off to a fantastic start! Things have been going great my way, I have absolutely no complaints! Paige is 10 months old and is doing wonderful, I plan to take some photos of her this weekend, and I'll be sure to post them!

I finally started going back to the gym, I think it's about time! I'm on my 5am gym schedule and it's working out nicely. I would really like to lose some weight and get my "mommy tummy" under control before Paige turns one! Wish me luck!! :-)

So, today I have one of my favorite things to share...my little notepad. There's a pretty good story behind this particular notepad. Paige and I were at the car dealership getting my car serviced and we were sitting next to a couple of very nice women. Of course they asked about Paige and it turns out they were mother and daughter and they were both pediatric nurses. So we chatted just a little bit. Anyway, long story short one of the ladies was looking for some paper and since she couldn't find any she started to write on a napkin. Me, being the paper person that I am, I couldn't let her write on a napkin! So, I reached in my purse and took out one of my notepads and gave it to her. I told her she could have it because I would make another one. She asked what I meant by that and I told her about my craftiness. :-) Her mom then told me that her granddaughter is getting married and she would love for me to make some notepads for the bridal shower favors! How cool is that!!! So, I'm just waiting for her to contact me with the amount she needs and the colors. I'm very excited! Her daughter then asked if I could make another notepad and mail it to her, so I did. This one is very similar to the one I made for her.

Did you miss me?!

Hello Friends! Wow, it's been a LONG time since my last post! So, let me catch you up on what's been going on in my world. My husband and I decided to host his family reunion (what were we thinking!) so we have been very busy with planning and getting things together. The reunion was last weekend and it was VERY nice. Everyone had a great time and it was really nice to see everyone and just talk, laugh and hang out.

And, as if hosting the reunion wasn't enough, we also decided to have Paige baptized that same weekend as well! We figured it was perfect timing because the family would be here anyway, so it really worked out well. Then, on Monday I had to fly to Chicago on a business trip and I was there until Thursday. Needless to say, I'm pooped! But, it was so great when I came home because Paige (and daddy) were so happy to see me when I got back. Nothing like seeing your baby literally jumping for joy when she sees you!

So, I do have a card to share with you today. Remember I told you that I was making 75 Thank You cards for my brother-in-law? Well, I finished the second set about two weeks ago and this is the finished card:
He absolutely loved the card! I got the idea from this post from the super talented Dawn McVey. I really love that grid line cardstock (I'll be using that again I'm sure) and I used the Wet Paint stamp set from Papertrey Ink to stamp the word Thanks several times. Easy peasy!

Teacher's Apple, Part II

Hello Friends! How are you doing this fine Saturday morning? I'm doing great, and I can't wait to get my day started. Paige and I are meeting my friend Jeanette for lunch today and that's always a fun time! After that we may swing by the mall for a little shopping then back home.

Today, I have another teacher's apple project to share with you. This was made for one of Paige's daycare teachers for her birthday. She has been so wonderful to Paige (they all are, but Mrs. Genie goes above and beyond). Anyway, I added Dove chocolate and a gift card to this sweet little gift box.
 
 
This was made with my Silhouette and it was super easy to put together. I really love how this turned out and Mrs. Genie loved it too!

From the desk of...

Hello Friends! Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was fantastic! Mine was great, I was able to get some crafting done and that's always a good thing! So, today I have a card that I made for my brother-in-law. He's a real estate agent/broker and he asked for some thank you cards (75 total)! This is the design for the first set of 25:
I absolutely love this desk set by Papertrey Ink! There are so many little things that I can stamp to add on top of the desk but I LOVE that typewriter! You know that I have a love affair with old school typewriters! I'm on the lookout for a pink Royal typewriter, let me know if you happen to come across one at a good price!
 
For these cards I alternated between green, kraft, and turquoise and they turned out really cute. I typed my BIL's name in a Word document then printed it on cardstock. I stamped "from the desk of" and then stamped the desk directly onto the cardstock. I die cut the typewriter, telephone, and pen holder, stamped them then added to the top of the desk. I cut a strip of patterned paper and added that to the right side of the cardstock, and that was it! You will definitely see me using this stamp set again, and again, and again! :-)

Baby Talk

Hello Friends! I hope you're having a great 4th of July weekend! Our day yesterday was pretty quiet, my honey had to work so Paige and I just relaxed at home. We've been getting a lot of rain lately so being in the house has been our thing. :-)

So, today I have a little baby talk for you! Paige recently turned 9 months old, can you believe it? Time is going by so incredibly fast! Here's a recent picture of her that I took in our back yard.

She is definitely the happiest baby ever! She smiles, and belly laughs, and talks ALL the time! She is so funny! The daycare actually got her on video saying Daddy! She's been saying "da-da" but this time it was daddy! My husband was beside himself! She's not quite crawling yet, but she does the "booty scoot" backwards which is hilarious! I told my husband that I think she's going to skip crawling all together and start walking soon! 
 
She's 18lbs 6oz and they didn't measure her length at the doctor's office, but I would say that she's close to 28 inches. She's just growing like a weed. Paige fills our days with so much joy, she is truly sunshine on a rainy day! I'm already starting to look for ideas for her first birthday. That's going to be a lot of fun! Since we have a long weekend, I want to at least start thinking of ideas for her invitations so I can check that off of my list.

Father's Day card

Hello Friends! I hope your weekend has been great so far. My weekend truly started on Friday because I took the day off! I dropped Paige off at daycare, then did a little shopping at the mall, got my nails done, then chilled at home for awhile before I picked Paige up. I'm just going to call those types of days "Me Days."  :-) My husband says I should do that once per month, and I think I just might take him up on that!

So, today I'm sharing the card that I made for David for Father's Day. We've been getting so much rain lately, I finally had a chance to get outside to take a photo. Unfortunately, it turned out a little dark, but hopefully it's not too bad.
This is another shaped card I made with my Silhouette. I inserted an iTunes gift card into the shirt pocket (my honey loves his music!). This was super easy to put together and David really liked it.

Owl thank you

Hello Friends! Happy Friday the 13th! I'm a BIG scary movie fan, hopefully there will be a scary movie marathon going on tonight! I think I may need to attempt to take a day off from work soon. I just need a day to do absolutely NOTHING! This means that I would still drop Paige off at daycare, come home, and jump right back in bed! You have no idea how wonderful that sounds as I type! LOL!

So, today I have another shaped card that I made with my Silhouette. I tell my husband all the time that the Silhouette was the BEST birthday gift ever! I use it so much and I absolutely love it! I made this card for my co-worker, Tammy. Just a little back story, Paige's room is decorated with owls, trees, and flowers. I used those cute wall decals and they are all around her room (thank you Chi and Leslie for putting them up for me!). My co-worker knew about Paige's décor and she bought her the cutest, chubbiest owl decal and it has her name on it. So, Paige's owl is now sitting in her tree. :-) To thank her I made this card:
It was so fitting that I found this shaped card, not only because of the owl Tammy gave me, but she also LOVES owls! They are all around her office so she really liked this card! The owl has little cross-eyed thing going on, but I think it makes him look even cuter! LOL!

Teacher's apple

Hello Friends! Happy Hump Day! It's mid-week and there's nothing like posting a cute card to put a smile on your face and help you make it to Friday. I don't know about you, but I truly live for the weekends!

So, today's card was made for one of Paige's teachers. Her birthday was about two weeks ago, so of course I had to make something! Remember, I'm trying to be "that mom" so I gotta keep up the handmade stuff! :-)
 
This was the first time I've made a shaped card with my Silhouette. I LOVE this apple! On the inside is a pocket that's perfect for a gift card (I added one from Dunkin' Donuts). I wish I would've taken a picture with the gift card in the pocket to give you the full effect, but I'll be sure to do that next time!

Thanks for everything

Hello Friends! Are you having a great weekend? I most certainly am, I love spending time with my husband and baby girl! We had a relaxing day yesterday and today we'll go to church and probably out to lunch. Then tonight, it's on because we'll be watching the Heat bounce back to beat the Spurs! LETS GO HEAT! :-)

Believe it or not, I cannot for life of me remember who I made this card for. Either I'm getting old or I still have some lingering effects of "baby brain!" Anyway, here's the card...
I absolutely love that wet paint stamp set by Papertrey Ink. They have a few more sets with different sentiments that I think I want to pick up as well. Hopefully this card brightened up the person's day that this was given to (it's killing me that I can't remember!). Well, that's it for me today, I hope the rest of your weekend is spectacular!
 
Edited to add: I finally remember who I made this card for!! It was for my husband's cousin, she recently sent a gift for Paige and I made her this card to thank her. Whew, that was really bothering me!

Congratulations

Hello Friends! Are you having a nice weekend? Mine has been very nice, just relaxing with the family. We're expecting thunderstorms today, so it's a great day to be home and watch lots of TV!

The card I'm sharing today was made for a co-worker to give to his friend for her wedding.
When I think of a wedding I immediately think of flowers, so I took that idea and ran with it. I did a big burst of flowers right smack dab in the middle of the card, and then just worked around that. I used a polaroid die cut underneath the flowers and added the Congratulations sentiment. The rest of the card is just patterned paper that I stamped to include more red into the card.
 
Well, I'm going to go jump back on the couch and eat some snacks and hopefully watch a couple of movies. I have Captain Phillips recorded and ready to go! Have a great day!

You won't have to face this alone

Hello Friends! How is your Memorial Day weekend shaping up? Mine has been pretty low key but that's fine with me. We may BBQ tomorrow, I call my husband the "Grill Master" so that will be nice. I'm hoping to take Paige's 7 month picture either today or tomorrow and share that with you. She is getting so big!

The card I'm sharing today was made for one of the teacher's in Paige's class who recently lost her father. I just wanted to let her know that we were thinking about her and we were there for her if she needed us.
Although this was a sympathy card, I still tried to make it colorful. Paige's teacher really appreciated it and I'm happy that we were able to let her know how we felt.

Hello Friends! Happy Monday to you! I hope you had a great weekend! My weekend was VERY relaxing, I didn't do much of anything. I really needed that because I have been running around like a crazy woman lately, and just needed a little down time.

The card I'm sharing today was made for my co-worker to give to his wife for her 40th birthday. I thought it was sweet of him to ask me to make her a card, I think he gets love points for being so thoughtful!
I used my Silhouette to get that torn paper look on the sheet music patterned paper, I think it turned out really cute. Then I just die cut the flower, and stem then stamped the images. I also used my Silhouette to write the sentiment (love that!) and I cut it out with one my PTI dies. My co-worker said his wife really liked the card and at the end of the day that's what I'm always hoping for!

Teacher's Appreciation Week

Hello Friends! So, last week was Teacher's Appreciation Week and Paige's school sent home a list of daily items to bring in to the teachers. The list included a thank you note, a hug, flowers, chocolate, etc. So, of course Paige participated and mom got crafty!

I started the week with my handy dandy notepads, those are always a huge hit!
You have to excuse this photo because I finished in the evening and I couldn't go outside to take a photo, so this was taken on my desk.
 
Next I brought each teacher a flower that they can replant at home. I cannot remember the name of this flower, but the teachers loved them.
 
I added some ribbon and a 3D flower that was cut with my Silhouette and I added a little rhinestone to the middle. Love those 3D flowers! One of the teachers actually re-gifted the paper flower and added it to her daughter's Mother's Day gift, she said her daughter really liked it.
 
And last but not least, chocolate! Who doesn't love Ghirardelli chocolate, and who doesn't love it even more when it's a little dressed up?
That was Teacher Appreciation Week in a nutshell. I didn't have time to make anything for the girls in the front office, so I want to do that this weekend because they are all super sweet! I think I'll make more of my handy dandy notepads! :-)

Happy Mother's Day!

Hello Friends! I just wanted to pop in and wish all the mom's out there a Happy Mother's Day! This is my first Mother's Day and I am so overjoyed to have this wonderful little girl that brightens my every day. I am truly blessed to not only have a beautiful daughter, but a sweet, kind, and loving husband as well. I love my family!

Spa Party

Hello Friends! So I have a super fun post to share with you today. My Goddaughter turned 5 years old a couple of weeks ago and her parents had spa party for her. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen! The place was pink and white (of course!) and the girls that worked there were all dressed up like fairies. The girls at the party had their little robes on and they got manicures, pedicures, and facials! They put mud masks on their faces and cucumbers on their eyes, can you say adorable! They had lunch and then they even had a fashion show (yes, they had a runway!), it was TOO CUTE! Paige and I had a great time.

Hello Friends! I know I've been MIA, but I have been crafting when I catch a few minutes here and there. So, today's post is about hope. My mom called to tell me that a girl I went to high school with has breast cancer. Her aunt works with my mom so she's been telling my mom all that she's been going through. It really hit me hard because she's just a couple of years older than me.  So, when my mom asked me to make a card for her, of course I went right to work!
Here's the inside:
I used my Silhouette for the front and inside panel of this card. There are so many designs in the Silhouette Studio, it was hard to choose. But, I truly love how this card turned out. I think it's sweet, yet bold at the same time.
 
Well, that's all I have today, but I hope that you will say a prayer for all of those who were recently diagnosed, all those fighting, all of the survivors, and all those who may have lost battle to this terrible disease.
