It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Hello Friends! Did you have a Happy Thanksgiving? I'm sure you all had a lot to be thankful for, and I pray that you were able to share your day with family and friends. We had a great Thanksgiving! We had 18 people at our house, and it was full of fun, laughter, kids running and playing, and of course, LOTS of food!! We had a blast!

So, I'm popping in today with a set of Christmas cards I made for one of Paige's daycare teachers. She was previously a librarian and she loved the library card invitations I made for Paige's birthday, so she asked me to make some for Christmas. What a cute idea! So, this is what I came up with.

I figured that most people like to display their Christmas cards, so I made these little easels out of chipboard. And, I had to make box to put them in, so I made this easy little box. Don't you love that paper! It's from BoBunny and it's called Candy Cane Lane, too cute!
So, are you going Black Friday shopping? No shopping for me today, I'm pooped! So, we are having a family pajama day! YAY!

Well, whatever you decide to do today, have a good time, and it's truly beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Paige's first birthday party

Hello Friends! I'm finally getting around to sharing photos from Paige's first birthday party. We had such a wonderful time on her big day, and the whole day was just full of love, laughs, and fun.

I chose a book theme for her party and on her invitations we asked guests to bring he a book instead of a card. She received over 25 books!

I also made some coasters to put these little milk bottles on that I bought from Michael's for fresh flowers. I found this this pin on Pinterest for these old school book covers.

I love these coasters, but can you believe that I forgot to put the flowers on top! It was a crazy day! But, here's a picture of the flowers.

I absolutely love the subway art craze that's going around these days, so I had to get something for Paige because she's cool like that! I believe I found this on Etsy.
So, I have to take a moment to talk about her cake. I went to one of my grocery stores looking for cake to fit our book theme, but I came up empty. I went to second grocery store, and I was speaking to the bakery manager, and she told me that she had been working there for 20 years. She says "well, it's not in the catalog, but a long time ago we made a cake that looked like a book for Baptisms, and I can do that for you!" I told her that was perfect, so she took it and ran with it, and boy was I happy with the results!
And, a party isn't a party with favors, right? I made these 3D books (using my Silhouette of course) and filled them with Smarties - perfect for our theme!

And the finishing touch, the Thank You card.

Of course this post wouldn't be complete without a picture of the birthday girl!

Thanks for hanging in there, I know this post was longer normal! I hope you have a fantastic day!

May this be your best birthday yet!

Hello Friends! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is in two weeks?! I sure can't, it just seems like the time is going by so quickly! My husband and I were already talking about our Christmas budget. And, we've decided to host Thanksgiving this year so I have a lot of work to do!

So, today I'm popping in with a birthday card that I made for my sister. She recently turned 26 so I sent her this card with a little money inside. :-)

I used on of my favorite PTI stamp sets, Stitched Sentiments on this card. It just has that homey feel that I love so much. Well, it's time for us to get ready for church, so this will be a super short post.

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Tote-ally Cute!

Hello Friends! I hope you had a Happy Halloween and you're having a great weekend! We didn't dress Paige up this year because the poor baby had a double ear infection. So, we just sat outside and gave out candy to all the kids in the neighborhood. We had a good time and Paige loved seeing all the kids! Even though she wasn't feeling 100%, I was able to take a picture of my little pumpkin...

She's loves the camera! We snapped this quick photo on the way to daycare on Friday morning.

So, I also have some crafty goodness to share with you. My manager's daughter, Marina turned 12 on Halloween and she invited 9 girls over to their house to celebrate on Saturday. She mentioned that she was going to have the girls decorate some canvas tote bags, and I had the bright idea to use my Silhouette to heat transfer their names onto the totes. Here's how they came out:

I used Cricut brand heat transfer material and I think I like it little better than the Silhouette brand. It's 12 inches wide so you can add a lot to small portion of the sheet. And, I was finally able to get a smooth transfer, I've tried several times with the Silhouette brand and I always had small pieces that would not transfer all the way. Needless to say, now I feel like a "Pro" so I'm going to start making some cute onesies for Paige!

Marina absolutely loved the totes! Hopefully they took pictures after they decorated them, if so I'll post those as well! Since I made them for my manager, my husband called me a brown-noser!! LOL!

I hope you have a great Sunday, our weather is absolutely perfect! So, I'm excited to watch football and possibly throw some food on the grill.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
