The Baby Diary

Hello Friends! Happy MLK Day! I'm popping in with Paige's 3 month photo. I can't believe she's already 3 months old! So many of my friends and family have told me how fast the time goes, and boy were they right!! She is growing so fast and every day she discovers something new, it's so heartwarming to see her eyes light up over everything she sees and hears! She's starting to "talk" A LOT and it is SO DARN CUTE!! My husband called me at work last week to tell me she was going to town talking to herself for about an hour! Too cute!!
She is just super sweet and she is such a joy to watch. My husband and I find ourselves staring at her all the time for no reason at all, it's hilarious! She is such a blessing! Here's another pic I took of her right before bed one night.
Doesn't she have the sweetest face ever?! Well, I hope you enjoyed this update and I apologize for taking so long but I've had major issues with posting pictures on Blogger lately. It looks like I've got it resolved for now, thank goodness, I was missing the blog! :-) We are off to the fair today to eat lots of fried food, people watch, and enjoy time with our family. I promise to post pics of all the fun!

Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by!

First photo with new camera!

Hello Friends! Are you having a good weekend? I know it's super cold in many areas, so hopefully you're snuggling up with a cup of hot cocoa and staying warm! My weekend has been great so far,  Paige and I met my friend for lunch yesterday and we also ran a few errands. She's such a good baby! I'll post her 3 month pic very soon, I can't believe she's already 3 months old!

I was able to get in the craft room and make a random birthday card just so I could take a pic with my new camera. Let me tell you, Sasha is amazing, I just set her on "intelligent auto" and she does all the work! She automatically went to the Macro setting and I think my first pic with her turned out pretty good.
What do you think? The photo is definitely sharper than what I was used to with my old camera. I'm thinking that I may rearrange my craft room and put my light box right next to the window because my room is pretty dim (not much natural light - see I'm learning!) so I'm going to try that and see if I can get even better quality pictures. It's a work in progress...

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Goodbye Nikon, Hello Sony!

Hello Friends! I hope you are all doing well and settling into the new year. I'm slowly getting adjusted to being back to work. My husband will be taking care of Paige for the next 4 weeks, so it's good to know that she is in loving hands!

So, today's post is all about what Santa brought me for Christmas. I guess I was really a good girl last year because I've had a camera on my Christmas list for 3 years running (I've been using a crappy Nikon point and shoot) and finally figured that Santa was not going to bring me a new one. So, I omitted it from my list this year thinking why keep wishing for something that I'm obviously not going to get. Well, surprise, surprise when I opened this cute little box on Christmas morning and found a Sony DSC-HX300 camera!!!! Woohoo, talk about excited. I totally got off the couch and did the happy dance! LOL! Would you like to take a look at her?
Isn't she beautiful!! I've named her Sasha. I've been taking some practice shots so I can get comfortable using her, and I tell you the photos are unbelievable!! I'm hoping that my cards will start looking MUCH better on the blog and as they say, practice makes perfect!

Well enjoy the rest of your day, and thank you so much for stopping by!

Happy New Year!

Hello Friends! Happy 2014!!! I hope you all rang in the new year with those you love and had a good time doing it! It was pretty quiet around the Weatherspoon household, we turned on Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve just in time to see the ball drop. We popped open a bottle of Moet and toasted to the new year. I must say that 2013 was amazing for us, but I know 2014 will be even better as we watch our little girl grow.

So, last year I made a few resolutions (or revolutions as the kid says in the AT&T commercial - LOL!) and now is time for me to see if I accomplished them:
  1. Be an awesome wife - mission accomplished!
  2. Be a fantastic friend - mission accomplished!
  3. Blog More - I would like to post at least twice per week. - I think I did pretty good with this one
  4. Read More - I think I only read 2-3 books this year and that's just not right. So, I would like to read at least 6 books next year. - Didn't quite meet this one, I think I read 3 books last year
  5. Work on my photography skills. If that means taking a photography class or looking up a bunch of videos on YouTube, I would like to see my pictures look better on the blog. - this will be better in 2014, I'll share why soon!
  6. Open my Etsy shop. This is a BIG goal for 2013, I've discussed this at length with friends and now I just need to do it! - didn't even come close to accomplishing this one!
  7. Sell my cards and other papercrafts at a local Farmer's Market. I've heard that this is a great way to get started with selling crafts on a local level. - mission not accomplished!
  8. Continue to exercise at least 3-4 times per week (and hopefully drop a few pounds in the process!) - I did great with this one. I gained 16lbs during my pregnancy and so far I've lost 25lbs. I started going back to the gym (I was just doing the treadmill at home) so hopefully I will see lots of progress with this one.
  9. Mail more cards. Isn't it funny, I make so many cards throughout the year and mail so few of them! I would really like to start mailing just because cards to friends and family just to let them know how much I love them. - I did better, but still need to work on this!
I must say that I think I did pretty darn good! This year, I really don't have a list of resolutions because this year my main priority is to be a good mommy and continue being a loving wife! Of course I will still craft my little heart out, but the most important thing for me is family.

Will you have any New Year's Resolutions? If so, I wish you much success and remember don't get so caught up on the small stuff, set reasonable goals so you can celebrate often!

Have a great start to the new year and thanks so much for stopping by!
