Crafting with heat transfer vinyl

Hello Friends! I wanted to pop in quickly today to share a cute project made with heat transfer vinyl (HTV). If you're not familiar with HTV, you are missing out on some fun! There are ton of videos on YouTube if you're interested. So, I recently purchased some gold glitter HTV and I could not wait to use it! I had some canvas totes that I bought from Michael's forever ago, and decided to finally open the package and use one for this project. I wanted to do something for the awesome young lady that braids my daughter's hair, so I cut out the name of her business along with a design from the Silhouette Design Store using my Silhouette Cameo. I'm not fortunate enough to have a heat press so I used my trusty home iron to transfer the vinyl onto the tote.
I was able to get the cutest model I know to hold the bag for me! :-) I really love how this turned out and the glitter vinyl looks amazing in person. I can't wait to give it to her and  you can follow her on instagram @ohmibraids to see her awesome work!

Well, it's shaping it to be a HOT day here. I hope you're staying cool and enjoying the sunshine as well! Have a great day!

Hugs,
Carol

End of year teacher gifts

Hello Friends! Long time, no blogging LOL!! I hope you all have been doing well and getting your craft on! Don't get me wrong, I've definitely been crafting but I think I've become light-weight addicted to Instagram!! If you're not following me there, please do - @carolscustomcards. :-)

Today, I have an end of the year teacher gift that was really fun to make. I ordered some galvanized baskets from WalMart and just filled that sucker up! I added a magazine, a very pretty water bottle from The Pioneer Woman (also from WalMart), Godiva chocolate, Bath and Body Works lotion, custom pencils from Bossy Joscie that said "wake up, teach kids, be awesome" and an Amazon gift card. I added each teacher's name to the outside of the basket using my Silhouette and vinyl, put it inside a clear gift bag and tied it with some ribbon. I made a total of 6 baskets and I was just so happy to let each teacher know what a blessing they have been in our daughter's life.

I love how these baskets turned out and giving is such a wonderful feeling! I hope you let your child's teacher know how much you appreciate them in your own special way as the school year comes to an end.

I hope you have a great Friday and if you're in the states, a fantastic Memorial Day weekend!!

Hugs,
Carol
